I know I fiddle with this syndication too much

We recently fixed up the RSS feed at Buzznet so there’s a good unified feed. That means you can just get all of someone’s stuff instead of just photos or journals, etc.

So if you’re looking at my buzznet stuff here you can dump the video and photo ones and just subscribe to buzznet_ignatz.

You can also syndicate anyone else you like over there just by choosing the (default) all media option.

cheers.

weekend update

I do not participate in Listmas nor do I like New Year’s resolutions. Aren’t you glad?

I had a lovely dinner with sooz tonight at Lakshmi and I am now full of chickpeas, spinach, rice, naan, daal, and assorted delicacies. A good two hours eating, talking, and agreeing about things!

Today’s happy discovery is that the wretched shoulder pain can now be totally knocked out temporarily with a cold pack, so I will be able to get to sleep at night. Before I tried this again my options were Aleve (didn’t work), Vicodin (made me ill), and insomnia (blows). Whew!

I plan to spend New Year’s eve at home, and toast the cat at midnight with some sham-pagne.

General statements of minor grumpery

  1. Don’t try to use the heart symbol in anything on the internet, ever ever ever. You instead will get a pipe: |. Also, you’re trying to use a heart symbol. Just stop!
  2. That thing that ships your twitter to LJ is pointless and a mild annoyance.
  3. Sentences beginning with “Check out…” are forbidden.
  4. When you say ‘Muah!” to indicate an air kiss, you make others sad and tired.
  5. If you’re reading this, you’re rich. This may seem surprising, but it’s true.

Unix roasting on an open fire

Whose shell this is, I do not know
The password was quite easy, though
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his disk fill up with snow.

Thanks to sooz for a birthday scarf that is warm and friendly and non-scratchy; that was a particularly thoughtful gift!

It was good to see friends on the patio again tonight.

My last few days have been a comedy of disasters worthy of M. Hulot. On Friday I woke up too quickly with too much to do and promptly barfed in the sink. The rest of the day was slow and featured excessive sleep and a number of household errors. I then had to move my car because of tree guys and found that it would not start. I was just barely able to get mom’s car close enough to do a jump, and the cables were stretched enough that twice the ground popped off the engine block. Then, while preparing to move the car, I closed the hood before replacing the plastic battery cover, so that the hood is now jammed shut.

Today I managed within the space of three hours to:

  • Lose my car keys
  • Lose my computer power adapter
  • Lose my house keys
  • Leave my phone behind
  • Set off my car alarm by pressing “panic” instead of “trunk open” THREE times
  • Break a $40 bottle of wine intended for the big dinner
  • Lose my car keys again
  • Lose my house key again
  • Hallucinate losing my jacket when I had not brought it with me
  • Return home without my house key and have to use the sekrit to get in

It’s a damned good thing we don’t have ice around here.

My neurologist’s business card had an url on the back

…from an online video site. I worried for a moment, and then went there. He’s one of their experts, which I guess is their thing. His stuff there is all about Parkinsons Disease and I fortunately do not have that. But here’s his personal intro:

VideoJug: Neal Hermanowicz

I like the pin he has. He said it was a healing hand from some Natives in New Mexico.

He’s a good guy.

day

Full of risotto, salad, tiramisu, and a 2000 Coto Rioja Reserva. Viva il ristorante Onotria!

Received: Speedlight for my DSLR (bowled over!), comfortable merino sweater, books! Via mamma mia!

New patio: looks very, very nice. Coffee is excellent. Management is nice. Open ’til 10 weekdays, 11 weekends. Dangerous desserts. Sandwiches look pretty good. They fixed the bad drain inside and put a good drain outside. The whitefly farm is gone. So far: viva Buon Giorno Cafe!

I HAVE DIED OF DYSENTERY

ACTUALLY I THINK ZEB GAVE ME THE CHOLERA

Anyway I just had the first real meal in a while, so I think I am coming out of it.

Thank God for miso soup is all I have to say about that.

My rockin’ Friday night will consist of rehydrating and doing work stuff. At least I got my drivers license renewed so I won’t be all illegal. A few more car struggles and I’ll be out of that hole on Monday.

Time for some refreshing… water.
