  1. You are two of my favoritist assholes ever.
So my aunt wants to open a roller rink in murrietta because WOW SURPRISE nothing to do here and my 16 year old cousin is all yay yay roller derby. I think you and Leah should pitch your idea to them. Bleach Maritni’s for everyone, too, clearly.
    It’s really good exercise?

  2. Just goes to show you how much location makes a difference. I love me some roller derby, but it seems that in Chicago the girls and the crowd are quite different than out your way. Cornfed midwestern girls & southside badasses made for some brutal fun.

      1. I can understand that. It hasn’t reached that sort of popularity here… the fanbase is made up, mostly, of chubby chasers like myself. Call me a shallow fetishist, but Ye Gods it’s just too much ass to pass up.

      1. REALLY?! I swear to you, I thought only me and the other derby girls and assorted fans bought into this.
Send me coverage, I need proof. And I’m with you on a lot of anything pop-culture is usually a bad thing.
Side note, care to nosh this weekend? I’ll be there Sat/Sun…

      2. It’s a THING now. Invest in it somehow, because every Fall-Out Boy fan in Sheboygan is going to be doing it in a year.
        Nosh: Yes. YES. Sat. lunch?

    1. I second his comment! It is not the activity itself or the people – I love all my derby girl friends and their derbying. It’s more the slow build I can feel and see around me… Saturation point for me. Maybe it’s also ‘cos some of my derby-oriented friends got SUPER into it, to the point where that was all they cared about and that sort of alientated me from them/it, y’know?
By the way, am I ever going to met you?

      1. I hear you guys- its definately (and I hate to say it) a lifestyle, which is why people get so saturated. I skate four nights a week, so its a big part of my life. But jeez, I know when to shut up about it. Not everyone cares. Its like…hockey or…furry’s. Everyone has their thing.
You should join Conrad and I for some lunch, although I may be down Saturday closer to dinner. Or Sunday. I should be around for a good part of the weekend!

      2. Speaking of furries, IS THAT WHY YOU ARE COMING TO COSTA MESA THIS WEEKEND, I BET IT IS
Anyway, I would love to try and get together with you two this weekend altho it may be kinda tough – I happen to have two bbq/party thingers to go to, one each day that starts around 3ish. Maybe Sunday before that? If not, then the next time you are down for sure.
