Achoo.

So, at one point I was an 18-year-old honor student with a lot of energy, knowledge beyond my years, and an endless future of success in front of me.

Then I sneezed.

And then, poof I’m an old fat bald depressed chronically ill guy, with a dead-end career, an increasingly poor medical prognosis, and a rapidly shrinking social circle. Sitting alone in the patio of a coffeehouse and living in his old bedroom back at his family’s house. Waiting to die.

The lesson here is obvious: Kids, don’t sneeze.

#$%^&%$ medical profession

My doc says I have insulin resistance/metabolic syndrome, refers me to learn how to take my sugars. Says I may get diabetes if I do not lose weight. OK.

He then tells the hospital diabetes people that I have new onset diabetes and need the full edication with dietitian etc.

Meanwhile I am also supposed to see some other nutritionist.

DO I HAVE THIS LIFE CHANGING DIASTROUS DEADLY DISEASE OR NOT? MAKE UP YOUR DAMN MIND.

another good meal!

A couple of slices of brisket pressure-cooked in beer & onions with black pepper; a can of white hominy with chipotle-infused olive oil; one perfect white peach.

The white peaches are very good this year. Locals be advised, do not get them at the Ralphs; they’re hard like rocks and preseeded with flies and expensive. Go to Trader Joes.
