I used to sort of know this guy. Surprise, he was a jerk. Also a misogynist. Also creepy. I had no idea he’d end up (probably) blowing his wife to bits.

So glad I only met him the once in person. Shiver. It’s bad enough when you meet people from “The Online” and they’re kind of creepy and make you want to wash their hands. When it turns out they’re on trial for capital murder with explosives…

Last time I saw him he was wearing green tights also. In case you needed a further horror factor.

So Senator Thurmond finally collapsed into dust. And we should memorialize the guy, because he’s part of U.S. History. Even though he was evil.

I figure the best way to do this would be to replace the “Meet Mr. Lincoln” audio-animatronic show at Disneyland with a “Meet Senator Strom”. He could talk about states’ rights, the Nigras, and the War of Northern Aggression. He could filibuster until all the brown people left the theatre. He could even tell amusing stories! Like how he traded in his wife for a new one every 20 years, and screwed lots of interns.

I see a need for some sort of petition. After all, the Republicans are really a lot more like him than like Abe these days. It would fit in more with the times.

Today they’re doing some tests to see if her kidney can be saved, or if they’ll need to take it out. Surgery next week; she’ll be back home for the weekend.

I think I should take her out drinking.

It appears she doesn’t have cancer, but does have an obstruction that will necessitate removal of one kidney. This is a relief, since it may be that she’ll just have a bad week and then be ok.

Meanwhile my pal Pete ( trinnit ) who had BRAIN SURGERY two days ago is discharged from the hospital and typing at me with one hand from his hotel room. Some people are just built tough. Damn.

My cat has a mass in her kidney. Unknown whether it’s cancer or a cyst. Send good thoughts vetwards.

And people ask me why I stopped being a freelance writer years ago and never looked back. This is all so vividly familiar.

Busting your ass for $75 only to be told “we wanted more sparkle” or “that’s a great spec bit, we’ll keep you in mind” etc. Hell on earth. I’d rather..hmm.. rather do computer work for an evil media empire!
