I got this email from Sears today:
WHOOPS! The email we sent you Monday had the wrong TV offer in it! We are not offering a Panasonic 54″ class 1080p 600Hz plasma HDTV for $399.99. We apologize for this mistake and assure you that we are taking every step to make sure it doesn?t happen again.
The offer that we currently have is a Panasonic 54″ class 1080p 600Hz plasma HDTV for $1099.99.
Some Thad or Tad or Katie or Caitlin “Email Blast Coordinator” didn’t enhance revenue today.

Also: I want something done “gangland-style” to whoever goes
and prices things at “$1099.99”.
It’s $1100 plain and simple. Subtracting
that single cent is an insult not even to the human mind– it
barely hits the optic nerve before it’s a design insult.
I could call some-or-other company and ask them to be the first
people to not have that “9”s filler, because it degrades company and human both. But there’s nobody I can call, and
nobody who can change it.
Maybe it’s time to put a special tax on the digit nine when used in advertising prices.
