JUICE BOX WINE

jukejuice

Allow me to present Bandit’s Wine in Small Boxes, which according to its manufacturer is “beyond delicious with any type of food.”

The guy getting it at the liquor store said it was great for camping.

Two stickers and it’s great for drinking at high school football games, too!

  1. When I was a young child and traveling with my family in Europe, we bought some brown-bagged lunches from a stall vendor in a train station in Italy. Each lunch had a small juice box in it, and as it turned out (much to my 8-year-old surprise and dismay), they were juice boxes of red wine. According to my parents, not bad wine either.
I imagine that the Italians do a better job with boxed wines than “Three Thieves”, although that’s just my euro-wine-snob opinion.

  3. How sad it can’t be shipped to New Jersey, never mind that it would cost $9.00 to ship a $10.00 4-pack of juice boxes 🙂
Maybe I’ll see if one of the 4 liquor stores within a mile of here can special order it. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

  5. I guess “small” is in the eye of the beholder. There are, like 4 or 5 different companies up here that produce those. They are quite plentiful at the Wild Oats style grocery stores. “They’re great for camping.” “They’re great for the environment.” They’re basically 1L or 750mL boxes, like the premade broth or soy milk boxes. Of the ones I’ve tried, the cheap ones are crap and the more expensive ones really aren’t that bad. and they take up less space in the recycling bins.

    1. Yeah, there’s no reason not to put wine in a box except perception. It’s like the screw-cap thing which is better than a cork, but it’s a hard sell to pretentious people.

now i’m all for drinkin, and i’m all for bypassing tradition. however. their jug wine has the phrase “cowboy up” on the label. hence it is down (but not in the colloquial sense) for me.
