Yeah, definitely a Blue Heeler/Australian Cattle Dog – the terms are pretty interchangeable, though you get Red Heelers too which are the same, only red. They’re pretty cool dogs (our family had a Border Collie/Kelpie/Heeler cross when I was a teenager, it was a bit of a wuss really) although they are included nip heels and such, since that’s what they do to get cattle mobs moving.
Kelpies and Border Collies are better at herding stuff but Heelers are reasonably capable at it too.

I have one myself. She was my husband’s. But he left her behind and now he has a baby instead.
Personally, I was pleased and relieved have easier-to-housebreak quadruped.

Heeler/cattle dogs were engineered to work in Australia. The are a mix of merl collie (for their herding skills), dingo (to handle the climate), bull terrier (hard head), and their spots come from dalmatians who once upon a time were very good dogs around livestock–fearless. But that was before skunk haired heiresses wanted to breed black and white spotted dogs for fur coats.
