I don’t want to start any blasphemous Roombas
I was dragged out of my Fünke by John & Elan this evening. We consumed maragar tit ass and coffee, and cased a fancy B&B, and then harassed Nick at the Barnes & Noble. I was Media Bastard and demanded to know why they had neither the new Mountain Goats CD nor the DVD of the real version of The Wicker Man. He could only shrug, sadly, like a Beirut cab driver.
The B&B around the corner from 21 Ocean Front in McFadden square is odd in a European way. There are pictures outside of the rooms, only four or five of them in total. The entrance is a tiny box of a room with only an elevator and a telephone. There’s something you must do to get in, but it’s Myst. Anyway his friend wasn’t working there that night.
Great horror movie fog & moon out tonight. The Mexican restaurant was acceptable for its type but full of Americans.
We’re supposed to get a good slosh of rain and HIGH SEAS OF DANGER this weekend. Who wants to go down to the jetty and get swept off and down into a terrible fate?

ITEMS
Folks, sooz is magic. Here are the reasons why:
- I showed up almost an hour later than I said I would and she barely mentioned it.
- She took me to a place where there were crepes, and I ate one, and the crepe was good. [end hemingway]
- She drove me to L.A. to see art!
- Despite being late, we saw the art because magic happened:
- She believed that we would make it on time even though the traffic was awful, and she was right
- She believed that we would get into the parking lot that said it was full, and she was right
- There was a guy in the lot who seemed to be angling for the same space but it worked out fine for everyone
- While in line for the exhibit, after being told that we’d only get to walk through really fast because it was almost close, we were spontaneously given passes by an exiting couple and saw the whole thing
- She’s hot.
I rest my case, I does.

A special time and a special song.
Nick brought something to my attention just now that stopped me in my tracks.
You know how it is, when you find something that just seems made for one person? The food, or the gift, or the song (especially the song!) that says: this is who you are, this is who we love, this is our relationship with you?
Well, I’ve found that for zebulon_y.
snow.mp3 (2.5M) is a duet between two artists who have in some way defined his life, and therefore our friendship. And I’m sharing it not just with him, but with the world!
Let joy ring out!
Nick and I came up with some book ideas last night
I was soured after my trip to B&N and nicholasjamesb and I started riffing on the “publishing market.” Here are some sure fire books we came up with:
Hitler’s Secret Weapons: Your Success Advantage for Life
The Templars, 9/11, and God’s Promise for Your New Life after Divorce
Chicken Soup for the Unholy Occult Secrets of the SS
Harry Potter and the Liberal Traitors of the Media
Donald Trump’s lives of the Templars
Sylvia Browne Channels Gilles De Rais
Q is for Quagmire: Sue Grafton’s Tour in Baghdad
Joel Osteen’s TEMPLARMANIA! & workbook
Mein Kampf: The Essential Church Group Reading Guide
My Pants Got Wet: A Suburban Woman’s Essentially Uneventful Life, Overexplained
A Wide Stance for America: The Larry Craig Story
Dr Laura’s TEMPLAR DIET AND WORKBOOK
ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK FROM JOHN GRISHAM’S CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE NEW AGE TEMPLAR SOUL BY DAVE KOZ

Thanks to sooz for a birthday scarf that is warm and friendly and non-scratchy; that was a particularly thoughtful gift!
It was good to see friends on the patio again tonight.
My last few days have been a comedy of disasters worthy of M. Hulot. On Friday I woke up too quickly with too much to do and promptly barfed in the sink. The rest of the day was slow and featured excessive sleep and a number of household errors. I then had to move my car because of tree guys and found that it would not start. I was just barely able to get mom’s car close enough to do a jump, and the cables were stretched enough that twice the ground popped off the engine block. Then, while preparing to move the car, I closed the hood before replacing the plastic battery cover, so that the hood is now jammed shut.
Today I managed within the space of three hours to:
- Lose my car keys
- Lose my computer power adapter
- Lose my house keys
- Leave my phone behind
- Set off my car alarm by pressing “panic” instead of “trunk open” THREE times
- Break a $40 bottle of wine intended for the big dinner
- Lose my car keys again
- Lose my house key again
- Hallucinate losing my jacket when I had not brought it with me
- Return home without my house key and have to use the sekrit to get in
It’s a damned good thing we don’t have ice around here.
THEY ARE UNFORTUNATELY NOT THE SAME LENGTH
This is one of the hazards of dinner with sooz:
