Wow, thanks for pointing us in the direction of that pilot’s photos.
We’ve got a pretty good view of the Pacific from our living room window, just south of the Golden Gate along the peninsula, and I’ve gotten really interested in watching those huge freighters coming and going, especially the ones going at sunset or night–it’s hard for me to wrap my head around how awe-inspiring and exciting and terrifying it must be leaving the lit city and its coast behind and heading out into that fucking huge black lonely sparse expanse
