Just from googling around, it seems pretty unremarkable, which is a good thing. If you’d be more comfortable at a big, well-known Zen center, the Zen Center of Los Angeles seems about an hour away and is where Bernie Glassman and John Daido Loori received their Dharma transmissions. But me, I’d rather find an unremarkable one.
If you end up at either, much of your practice is going to be in your home anyhow
Vairotsana Foundation in Garden Grove. It’s Tibetan Buddhism and Most of the students are Vietnamese, so they mean business, i.e. the western ego is limited.
Nothing substantive to add. Just wanted to say that the avatar used for this post is the bee’s knees.

I would be way, way more comfortable at one to which I could walk!

Yeah. I was specifically looking for a Zen outfit, but I will keep that one in mind.

of course, driving to a zen center in L.A. would give you all that yummy traffic to practice your zen on.
