Now that everything’s going APCO25, radio scanning as a hobby is headed for death. Incidentally, so is citizen monitoring of public safety transmissions, which has been part of the open tradition of American radio my whole life.
Hmm maytbe there it was poular, but here Police Call didn’t sell much. Radio shack would even give you a print out of all the local frequencies for free. Being a rural area, with < 50 channel scanner you were set.
