This shouldn’t be hard, folks.

I use Fink, which is a distribution of packaged open source Unix programs that run on Mac OS X, with a slick Debian package manager and everything all networked and stuff. It’s useful to me.

All of their material is mirrored all over the world for redundancy and reduction of network use. Hey, good idea!

All the mirrors that your package manager contacts are subdomains of finkmirrors.net, e.g. sfo.ca.us.finkmirrors.net

What could possibly go wrong?

They failed to renew the finkmirrors.net domain, causing everything to stop working as of today. Every single mirror in the world is unreachable because the main domain cannot respond. Way to go, guys. Do you have that email service that reminds you of stuff like that? I suggest it. Also:

SINGLE POINTS OF FAILURE ARE BAD, MMMKAY?

People who can’t manage the simple things make me tired.
