Metafilter had this gem, about that MAGAZINE BIBLE THING, this time with videos illustrating the problem:
“The Bible is so big and freaky looking”
“Too much information”
“It’s like Shakespeare or something”
whereas this new format:
“I’d carry this magazine around!”
“It has beauty tips. It’s good to look beautiful.”
You know, if you reduced the Koran to a fashion magazine you’d be.. dead.
God threw down for us, man…give Him his props yo!
When you die, we’all judged, but dude, check it, Jebus gots you back…he says hold up, this chick is part of my crew.
I do not want to make a snap judgment, but I think that it is too easy to water-down a message so that it becomes more appealing. I do not remember seeing make up tips in my bible…what book of the bible is that based on?

if “don’t wear makeup” is a makeup tip, you can find that in a couple of places in the Old Testament..

Good to look beautiful?
I’ll tell what what’s good. It’s good to know not to fuck with prophets:
Is your fashion mag bible going to tell you that shit? I DON’T THINK SO.
