I find that exposing sodium to moisture or air tends to produce a highly exothermic reaction that reduces the sodium content by at least 50%. After that, you can dig right in.
Okay, it’s funny that sodium is on the list, but if you’re going to put it on the list at all, shouldn’t it be right at the top?! I mean, sodium is damned near 100% sodium!
