Regarding the Red Sex, Blue Sex article, Utah has exactly the opposite pattern.

Lowest rates of teen pregnancy and abortion, fewest out of wedlock births, etc. And the Mormons preach the same kind of abstinence talk as the Evangelicals, but get exactly the opposite result.
I suppose it’s possible that somehow these stats are misleading, but if not, I’d like to see someone examine this.

That is interesting. The context of Mormons in Utah is specific enough that it could be a big difference.
