  1. OK WEIRD. The VERY FIRST conversation I had today was about touch tone phones. I was asking Ryan if he remembered those “pulse” phones, and if he could remember when phones got really cheap all of a sudden and you could buy the Conair neon color type wall phones that you stuck on with little double sided tape things and had SUPER long cords.
We were talking about different phones we had for like an hour.

  2. My parents still have a rotary phone — two, in fact: one in the kitchen and one in their bedroom. The phones are beige and for two decades have been objects of curiosity and wonder to visitors, particularly my school friends. I don’t think I’ve seen another rotary phone in actual use since Reagan was in office.

    1. There are still a couple at my grandparents’ house—beige too. But they recently replaced the wall phone in the kitchen with one that has giant buttons.

  3. Obviously a reason for this nation’s obesity problem. Think of the calories burned with rotary vs. touchtone…and now…
SPEED DIAL? We’re a fat nation we are.
